My local newspaper, not unlike other local newspapers, has an odd sense of newsworthiness. A feature story appeared last week on the front page about OJ Simpson's appearance at local restaurants here in the Buffalo Bills area and at a restaurant in nearby Middleport NY. The locals were enamored to have OJ the celeb in town and have their pics taken with him.
Autographs and photographs and psychopaths, Oh My!
I suppose he was here on business, too, looking for the real killer in Gasport, NY.
Will, wiser than most of his 16 year old peers, read the story in the paper, also. He asked if I'd seen it and commented, " I wonder if Charles Manson came to town, would they line up for autographs and to have their pictures taken with him?
If Charles Manson had won a Heisman Trophy and run for 2003 yards in a single season in the NFL, yes they would line up for autographs and pics.

I was one of those receiving an autograph that day. I received OJ's autograph both times he visited, he is a murderer yes, but also once was a great football player too.
